THOMASVILLE – Brookwood’s football schedule for the 2024 season is finalized.
There are no excessively long road trips this year, though the Warriors will be away from home for four out of the first five games. Brookwood will be at home, however, from Sept. 20 to Oct. 18 before closing the regular season at GIAA Region 3-AAA rival Valwood.
“I think we’ve done this three times now in the last maybe eight years. It’s certainly not by design. Once you get through that five-week stretch then you get to be at home four weeks in a row. That’ll be fun,” Brookwood coach Shane Boggs said.
Brookwood’s longest road trip of the regular season is a two hour, 15 minute-trek to Westfield in Perry in the season opener on Aug. 16. Brookwood will follow with a trip to Terrell Academy on Aug. 23. Brookwood’s lone home game in the first month is on Aug. 30 against Maclay (Fla.). The Warriors will then travel to Mayo, Florida, to play the Lafayette Hornets on Sept. 6. They will then travel to familiar foe Southland Academy on Sept. 13.
Brookwood’s stretch of four straight home games will start on Sept. 20 against Frederica Academy. It will then host Southwest Georgia Academy on Sept. 27 before starting region play on Oct. 4 at home against Deerfield-Windsor. Brookwood has a bye week on Oct. 11 before hosting Tiftarea on Oct. 18 before finishing at the Valiants on Oct. 25.
The first round of the playoffs will be held on Nov. 1.
Brookwood will host Pataula Charter in its preseason scrimmage on Aug. 9.
