Mrs. Lane W. Beatty is from Thomasville, GA and is married to Blanding Beatty, originally from Franklin, TN. They have three children, Johnson ’30, Everett ’31, and Fort ’34, all students at Brookwood. Lane graduated from Brookwood School in 2001 with honors. In 2005, she received a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia and earned a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont University in 2007. Since then, she has practiced as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Birmingham, AL and Nashville, TN. After moving back to Thomasville, Lane founded the Trellis Counseling Center and currently serves as the Director of the private practice for counseling. In addition to her counseling practice, Lane is a co-founder of Oushak Chic, a vintage rug company.
Lane has been involved in various community and volunteer activities. She is a former Parent Connect leader at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville and served Brookwood as the Auction Chair in 2022 and the President of Parent Council for the 2023-2024 school year. Lane serves on the House Committee of Glen Arven Country Club and is an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where she teaches Sunday School and serves on the Children’s ministry team. Lane joined the Brookwood Board in 2024.
Mrs. Charnie R. Beverly is from Thomasville, GA and married to Max F. Beverly. They have three sons, Max ‘18, Rich ‘20, and Strong ‘22. Charnie graduated as Valedictorian from Brookwood School in 1990 and received the Headmaster’s Award. A 1994 honor graduate of Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Art History, she served as the president of Omicron Delta Kappa, the school’s Leadership Honor Society. Charnie was employed in Atlanta, GA by Marsh & McLennan in Risk Management Consulting and moved back to Thomasville with her family in 2002. She is involved with many philanthropic organizations, serves as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. Charnie joined the Brookwood Board of Directors in 2007.
STUART BRUNSON is a native of Moscow, Tennessee and is married to Eliza Sedgwick Brunson, who grew up in Washington, DC. They have four children attending Brookwood: Abigail ‘24, Mason ‘27, Hayes ‘29, and Wade ‘32.
Brunson is a health care entrepreneur and the former Deputy Governor of the State of Tennessee. He currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of Bluebird Homecare, Inc., an in-home provider of non-medical support services for seniors. He is also an active manager of a diverse family asset portfolio that includes land and timber holdings in Thomasville, Georgia. Brunson graduated from the University of Mississippi with degrees in English and history, earned a law degree from the University of Memphis, and attended Vanderbilt Divinity School.
He is a former board member or trustee for a wide range of civic and community organizations, including service as a board member for The Ensworth School in Nashville, Tennessee; board chair for St. George’s Kindergarten; Senior Warden for St. George’s Episcopal Church; chair of the St. George’s Endowment Fund; and a trustee of the Southern Growth Policies Board. He and his family attend All Saints Episcopal Church in Thomasville.
Mr. Travis Bryant, Treasurer, is from Cairo, GA and married to Jeanna Bryant. They have two sons, Will ‘22 and Sam ‘26. Travis graduated from Cairo High School in 1994 and earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Georgia in 1998. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in Atlanta, GA in the Entrepreneurial Advisory Services Group. He joined Lanigan & Associates P.C. in Thomasville, GA in 1999. In 2008, Travis joined Coastal Forest Resources Company as Chief Financial Officer and began serving as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2012. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of CPAs, and the Young Presidents’ Organization. Travis also serves on the Staff Parish Relations Committee of Cairo First United Methodist Church and is a member of the Tired Creek Lake Authority for Grady County. Travis joined the Brookwood Board of Directors in 2013.
Mr. E. Vann Middleton, Chairman, is from Atlanta, GA and is married to Kelly H. Middleton. They have two daughters, Peyton ’19 and Taylor ’22. Vann is a 1987 graduate of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. Vann received a BA degree in History and a BBA degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 1991. He began his career as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch in Atlanta and moved to Thomasville in 2001 to become the Executive Vice President and Director of Operations at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservatory. In 2013, he joined Archbold Medical Center as the President and CEO of The Archbold Foundation, where he manages the long term investable assets of the Medical Center in support of John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital and Archbold Health Services. Vann is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Thomasville and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Georgia. Active in the community, Vann currently serves as a Board Member of the Thomasville Historical Society, The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, and Thomasville – Thomas County Humane Society. Vann is Chair of the Humane Society Endowment Trust and is a member of the Vestry at All Saints Episcopal Church. Vann joined the Brookwood Board in 2016.
Mrs. Elizabeth S. Street is from Lanett, AL and married to Dr. Thomas E. Street, originally from Valdosta, GA. They have three children, Emmett, James, and Liza, all students at Brookwood. Elizabeth graduated as Valedictorian from Springwood School (Lanett, AL) in 1997. She attended Georgia Tech and received a B.S. in Industrial Systems Engineering and a minor in Finance. Elizabeth worked as a financial analyst for Trimont Real Estate Advisors, an asset management firm, that at the time, was tasked with overseeing performance of Lehman Brothers’ Principal Transaction Group’s commercial debt and equity positions.
She and her family moved to Thomasville in 2015 when her husband joined South Georgia Anesthesia Associates to practice Anesthesiology at Archbold Medical Center. Elizabeth serves on the Thomasville Antiques Show Foundation board as Vice-President and was Co-Chair for the 2018-2019 30th Anniversary Show. She is also a Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Church, where her family are members. Elizabeth joined the Brookwood Board of Directors in 2019.
Mr. Russell Turner is from Pelham, GA and married to Susan K. Turner. They have three children, Garland ‘12, Anne Scott ‘16, and Hill ‘18. Russell graduated from Brookwood School in 1985 and received his B.S. in Business Administration and Home Furnishings Marketing from High Point University in 1989. After working with Lane Furniture in California, Russell and his family moved back to this area in 1992 to join his family’s expanding furniture business. He currently serves as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Russell has been involved with numerous civic organizations and is the current Chairman of the Georgia Home Furnishings Association. He served as a Deacon for First Presbyterian Church, held the office of Vice President for the Brookwood Booster Club, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Russell joined the Brookwood Board of Directors in 2012.
Mr. John Wagner is from Fort Lauderdale, FL and is married to Tory Wagner. They have four children, Mary Katherine '15, Natalie `17, Jack `19, and Sarah Bayly `29. John attended Florida State University and graduated with B.S. degrees in Accounting and Marketing. John has been working with his family’s uniform manufacturing business since 2001. In 2008, he completed a new manufacturing facility in Thomasville. In 2011, John became President and CEO of Bayly, Inc. marking the 6th generation of family ownership for the business.
Mr. Eric Ward, Vice Chairman, is from Thomasville, GA and is married to Catherine A. Ward. They have children: Caroline ’32, Anne ’35, and Sara, Emma, and TJ. Eric is a 2000 graduate of Brookwood School. He received a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia in 2005 and an MBA from the University of Florida in 2011. He is a member of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking’s class of 2022 and a 2008 graduate of Leadership Thomasville-Thomas County.
Eric moved back to Thomasville and began his banking career in 2006 at Commercial Bank. In 2018, he joined Thomasville National Bank as Vice President and Commercial Lender and began serving as Senior Vice President in 2019. He serves as a board member of Hands On Thomas County and the United Way of Thomas County and is a past chairman of both organizations. Eric previously served as a board member and past chairman of the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Thomasville and Christ Community Presbyterian Church where he serves on the Mission’s Committee. Eric joined the Brookwood Board in 2021.
