The Brookwood Middle School offers a rigorous and challenging course of study for Sixth through Eighth Grade students emphasizing development in academic areas while also meeting the unique needs of young adolescents. Dedicated to our Honor Code and committed to educating the whole child, the Middle School not only nurtures its students but invites them to be challenged to explore and develop their own potential.

The Middle School program is designed to foster the academic and physical growth of students and to cultivate their spiritual and social development. Middle School teachers are charged with continually challenging and nurturing students through high-reaching educational objectives, while encouraging independence through appropriate structure and example.

In addition to the core subjects of English, mathematics, social studies, Spanish, classics, and science, Middle School students enjoy a variety of enrichment courses including art, design thinking, physical education, and study hall. Small class size allows students to participate in a variety of on campus activities, athletics, and exciting trips that combine academic skills and opportunities for positive social interaction.

With the implementation of the Honor Code, the Middle School formalizes the traits of trust, respect for the property of others, and integrity, which began in the Lower School. The Honor Code for Middle and Upper School students is enforced by the Honor Council made up of faculty and students.

While enrolled in the Middle School, each child receives an excellent education while acquiring the fundamental character traits and study skills necessary for independence and future success.
