Brown and Brooks lead THS to victory over Warriors

The Thomasville Lady Bulldogs secured an impressive victory over the Lady Warriors on Saturday, netting a 54-38 win. The Lady Bulldogs, now 7-5 and having won seven of their last nine games, handed Brookwood just their fourth loss of the season.

Senior Jaleah Brown and freshman Jayla Brooks were phenomenal against the Lady Warriors combining for 32 of the Lady Bulldogs 54 points. Brown shot 50% from the f ield, dropping 18 points and knocking down a team-leading three threes. Brown also led the team on defense with six of Thomasville’s 18 steals. Freshman Harmony Bryant led the Lady Bulldogs with nine rebounds.

Thomasville was solid from start to f inish against the Lady Warriors. They outscored Brookwood in three out of four quarters and pulled away at the end of the f irst half with a 24-13 second quarter. By halftime, it was 35- 18.

Brookwood attempted a comeback, dropping their gamehigh 15 in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lady Bulldogs’ solid lead. Thomasville went on to win 54- 38 in one of their best wins of the season.

After an 0-3 start to the 2024- 2025 season, the Lady Bulldogs have won seven of their last nine games with their only two losses being single-digit defeats to Lincoln and Brantley County.

Thomasville will face Brookwood again later this month, this time at Brookwood. The game will take place on January 27 and will come after a tough stretch that will see Thomasville face f ive region opponents, two teams that have beaten them this season, and play six games in 12 days.
