Brookwood’s Eighth Graders Showcase Innovative Solutions in Design Thinking Class

Brookwood School’s eighth-grade Design Thinking students recently presented creative solutions to real-world problems, applying the five-step Design Thinking process: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. This hands-on enrichment class challenges students to identify issues in their daily lives and develop innovative, practical solutions. In addition to problem-solving, students refine essential skills such conducting interviews, composing formal emails, and delivering professional presentations.

This quarter’s projects included Square Ball, a dynamic fusion of gaga ball and four square; Better Days, a clothing line designed for versatility across seasons and sizes; and Notifi, an AI-powered device aimed at helping users manage their daily routines. Students presented their ideas to Brookwood’s Leadership Team and their peers, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
