Basketball Impresses in Bounce-Back Performances, Create Positive Momentum Going into Exams

Both the Warrior and Lady Warrior Basketball programs showed resiliency in their most recent performances, bouncing back after frustrating losses to gain valuable wins.

 

The Lady Warriors were defeated on the road in Camilla Saturday night at Westwood, but responded by defeating Leon High School at home on Tuesday night, 56-50. In a game which featured multiple momentum swings, the Lady Warriors were able to impose their pressing and aggressive tempo on the visiting Lady Lions. Brookwood was led in scoring by Jordan Thompson's 18 points, complemented by Holland Walker and Mollie Vick netting 11 and 9 respectively.

 

The win improves the Lady Warriors to 6-2 on the season as they break for Exams. They will return to action in next week's annual Holiday Hoops Tournament here on campus.

 

The Boys were shorthanded Friday night in a home loss to Florida High at the hands of the visiting Seminoles. With no time to dwell on the defeat, the Warriors traveled to Camilla Saturday to play in a tough environment at Westwood. A dominant 22-8 run to start the game allowed the Warriors to win 64-57, improving to 5-2 overall on the season. Kurtis Brown led Brookwood with 18 points, followed by Harrison Owens with 16.

 

The Warriors will play at North Florida Christian on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in a re-scheduled game before playing in Brookwood's Holiday Hoops next week.
