Thursday night Bingo in July, hosted in downtown Boston, Ga., raised over $700 for back-to-school supplies for Cross Creek Elementary School. A wish list was provided by Lindsey Ray, the art teacher for 3rd and 4th graders in the Thomas County School System and a Boston resident, that she shared with colleagues.
“We hope to relieve some of the financial strain that our teachers endure every year, by providing some of the basic school and art supplies,” said Logan Smith, one of the founders of Boston Arts & Entertainment Society. The society also gifted a MacBook Pro to Emma Broome, a recent graduate of Brookwood School in Thomasville, who will be pursuing an art degree from Kennesaw State.
“Emma has been a valued employe here at The Silo 31626 in Boston, not only providing food and beverage service, but also assisting with some of the graphic designs and social media. She will continue some remote work with us, and she will also begin doing some of the same type of support for BAES. Logan and I want to make sure she has the tools she needs to follow her dream,” said Ashlund Edwards, co-founder of BAES.
Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
