The Brookwood School Class of 2024 dedicated their senior yearbook, “The Warrior”, to Ms. Susan Vann. Vann has worked at Brookwood for 9 years and serves as the Upper School Co-Dean of Students and History and AP Human Geography teacher.
Yearbook Editor Isaac Nunnally ‘24 shared that Vann embodies the very essence of what it means to be an educator. “She is passionate, caring, and dedicated to shaping young minds for the future.”
“It is not just her knowledge or expertise that sets her apart,” adds Yearbook Editor Ellie Godwin ‘24. “It is her ability to make learning an adventure, to infuse even the most mundane of topics with excitement. From her witty anecdotes to her creative teaching methods, she has a knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, and for that, the Class of 2024 is endlessly grateful.”
Vann is a pillar of support.
“I’m so grateful that Brookwood has been my family for the last 9 years,” Vann states. “I moved to Thomasville in the summer of 2015. When you step out into the darkness to do something new, God will either put a solid surface under you, or give you wings to fly. Brookwood was that solid surface underneath my feet.”
The yearbook dedication has been a tradition at Brookwood School since 1971. It is an honor decided by the senior class, and is a selection that represents the entire school.
Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
