Brookwood School Welcomes the 2024-25 Academic Year with Excitement and New Additions

Brookwood School is thrilled to announce the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year; its 54th
year committed to excellence.

This year, Brookwood welcomes returning students and approximately 60 new students.

Leading up to the start of the school year, Brookwood hosted internationally recognized author J.P. Nerbun. Speaking to faculty, coaches, parents, and student athletes, Nerbun provided invaluable insights aimed at further advancing school culture and enhancing the Warrior Athletics program. His visit is expected to have a lasting impact on the entire Brookwood community, reinforcing our shared commitment to nurturing both academic and athletic excellence. Just prior to Nerbun’s visit to Thomasville, he mentored the US Women’s Water Polo team prior to their Olympic competitions.

As Brookwood continues to prioritize educational innovation and student success, several new faculty members are welcomed across various divisions.

In the Lower School, Brookwood welcomes Rebekah Anglea, Conner Fabrega, Sophie Figueroa, Caroline
Harrison, Gigi Jackson, Candace Poellnitz, Becky Schweikert, Lindsey Shiver, Sidney Webb, and Sally
Worthington.

In the Middle and Upper Schools, new faculty members include Lindsey Cone, Morgan Rizzo Henrique, Dale Kelly, Alex Papanicolopoulos, and Ryan Sowers.

The Athletics department is excited to welcome Daryl Jones, Jenna Jones, and Nik Schweikert.

Finally, joining the administration are Jon Mizell and Jennifer Ray.

Brookwood School is confident that these talented educators and staff members will bring fresh perspectives and new energy to the school community, further enriching the academic and extracurricular experiences of all students.

The new academic year brings opportunities for teachers to lead engaging instructional activities, students to strive for innovation, grit, and, of course, Warrior Spirit!
