Brookwood standout golfer Mason Howell knows where he will play golf at the next level. Turns out, his collegiate home will not be far from Thomasville.
The junior announced on social media this week that he is committed to play golf for the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens.
“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to play college golf at the University of Georgia! First, I would like to thank God for the gift of continuing my education while competing in a sport I love,” Howell wrote on Instagram. “I can’t thank my family enough for all they do to support my journey. Grateful to coach Haack, coach Douglas and coach DeMoss for giving me the opportunity to become a Dawg.”
“Thank you to my coaches Bill Connally, Jimmy Gilliam and all the wonderful folks at Glen Arven who have always been so supportive. Big thanks to Jeff Brown and @pingtour for helping me achieve my dreams.”
Howell just concluded his summer of golf last weekend when he finished fifth at the Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
