Brookwood Celebrates Students Earning AP Capstone Recognition

Brookwood School proudly announces that Emma Rhodes, Andrew Strickland, John Roesel, and Ben Watts, all members of the Class of 2025, will be the first students in the school's history to receive the AP Capstone Diploma at graduation. This honor underscores the commitment of Brookwood's Advanced Placement (AP) program to academic excellence and innovative scholarship. Following the release of Spring 2025 AP exam scores, the school expects that many additional students who completed AP Research will also receive this esteemed recognition.

The AP Capstone Diploma is granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, in addition to scoring 3 or higher on four additional AP exams. This recognition reflects the students' ability to conduct independent research, evaluate complex issues, and communicate their findings effectively.

"Receiving the AP Capstone Recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of these outstanding students," said Director of College Counseling, Jeremy Kasten. "Our AP program is designed to challenge students and prepare them for college and beyond, and Emma, Andrew, John, and Ben have exemplified these qualities through their remarkable achievements. I am proud of all of the students who stretched themselves to take Brookwood’s first-ever AP Seminar and AP Research courses. This is a great group of students who have pushed themselves and have worked hard to achieve their great success!"

Brookwood’s AP program offers a range of AP courses across various disciplines, encouraging students to explore their interests and excel academically. The introduction of the AP Capstone program has further enriched the educational experience by emphasizing critical thinking, research skills, and interdisciplinary learning.
