High school football teams in Georgia got back to work officially Monday, in pads and ready to work.
The Brookwood Warriors have big shoes to fill on offense as quarterback Rodge Waldrop is gone, and so is do it all offensive machine TJ Thomas. While head coach Shane Boggs notes you can never replace those guys, he likes the work this team has put in to get better.
“It’s always fun to watch kids grow and last week we really believe we grew everyday. I think a lot of these guys have grown since December, whether it be mentally, physically, just in terms of mindset, but this is a big week,” he said. “It’s going to take us to a new level hopefully. We’re coming down the home stretch here of really a lot of work and just looking forward to these guys continuing progress.”
Brookwood has their first scrimmage on August 9th when they face Pataula Charter. They open the regular season at Terrell Academy on August 23rd.
Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
