THOMASVILLE - The Brookwood Warriors sent three players, Walker Jackson, Morgan Boggs, and Ainsley Jacobson, to participate in the GIAA AllStar game this past weekend.

For the GIAA All-Star game, coaches are selected to head one of the four the All-Star teams. Players are nominated by their coaches and the All-Star coaches draft thier team from the pool of nominees. Jackson was a top four pick.

“The opportunity to play in an All-Star game just caps off what was a fantastic high school career for him. It’s just kind of that punctuation mark,” said Brookwood head boys coach Nate VanDuyne. “It marks the ending of his high school career but it’s going to also mark the begining of this level of preparation of what is hopefully an equally memorable college career.”

Jackson was the best player on the floor at any given time this year, drawing eyes with his ball skills and massive dunks. He helped lead the Warriors to a region title and an appearance in the state championship game. He will be continuing his basketball carer at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a DII program that went 17-12 last year.

For the girls, both Boggs and Jacobson were selected.

“They’re great examples of when you put the work in you’ll reap the benefits of your work, and not only did they put the work in this year when I was here, but those two have put the work in for all the years they’ve been in this program,” said Brookwood girls coach Nik Schweikert about his two seniors.

Schweikert, who just wrapped up his first year as Brookwood’s head girls basketball coach, went on to describe Jacobson as a quiet leader, who shows up every day and works no matter what and sets a good example for the other girls. He valued Boggs for her different perspective as a three sport athlete who is so passionate about basketball.
